Has anyone built this amp circuit?
« on: April 29, 2003, 11:52:37 am »
Hello,

http://www.mameworld.net/pc2jamma/hardware.html

Has anyone put together this video amp from Mameworld.net? If so- you happy with it? Did it do the job? End up having any trouble with it?  It's going to be my next project... wondered if anyone already had any opinions on it.

I'm working on yet another Dreamcast-to-Arcade cab conversion, and have been having pretty good luck with it.   Just followed the instructions on Mameworld.net's DC2JAMMA section, went ahead and used the LM1881 sync right from the start, and everything went pretty much by the book.

Now I'm trying to deal with the dark picture. I put 220uf caps on the RGB lines as suggested, adjusted the brightness/contrast settings on the monitor, etc.  Back to the message boards, they say I probably need a video Amp.

Figures  I'd *just* placed an order with Ultimarc the day before, or I'd have just bought the amp provided there and been done with it.   :P  So, I'm off to build the one above...
