Fantasy football info services?
« on: August 29, 2007, 11:39:47 am »

Anyone here so into fantasy football that they use a pay service for info and analysis?  I never have - beyond a yearly magazine prior to the draft - but this year I really want to win our local league.

That would be retarded, especially with all of the free time you have at work to do your own research. ;D

I actually don't have nearly the free time I used to of late.  My post activity is way way down.

Not bad... our draft has already happened, though, and my team is pretty good.  As we all know, though, leagues are usually won by the guy who makes the best midseason roster moves.

So you have Eli, Plaxico and Shockey on your team?  :applaud:

No, I like guys that score touchdowns.

Even if I did have those guys my team would be great.  I have Tomlinson.

I'd be willing to have a friendly wager that Eli throws more touchdowns than LT runs in. I know you won't actually bet anything we can exchange so...

Add in his picks thrown and he will definitely throw more td's than LT will run.... :laugh2:

As a Bears fan living in Indy, I can easily say that I would rather have Gross-man than Eli!

Apples and oranges.  I have Brees at QB and there's no way in hell Eli throws more TDs than Brees.

Maybe you should put the Giants RBs up against Tomlinson.  All of them.

And then double it!  I would still take LT.

2nd RB on your team?  10 team league?

I'm not in the fantasy game with him but it's just a friendly bet.

Grossman over Eli, that's just silly.

I'll take Eli over Drew straight up. Hell, there is nothing to lose but to be able to have fun with winning as the season goes.

No, its about winning games.  Unlike you, I can be brutally honest about players on my team.  Did Grossman play terribly in the Super Bowl?  Yes.  Did he cause them to lose the game?  Most likely.

However, he also took his team to the Super Bowl in his 4th year in the league and first season to play more than three games as a starter.  Eli played in the same number of games his first season as Grossman did in his first three seasons.  Will Eli take his team to the Super Bowl in his 4th year?  Odds aren't likely but its possible.

Did Grossman have some horrendous games last year?  I stayed up and watched all of the game at the Cards last year.  He was terrible.  However, look at the games they won.  His passer rating was off the charts.  He's a cowboy who takes chances and gets burned sometimes.  His mechanics are relatively terrible.  Probably 60-70% of all his int's are caused by him throwing off his back foot because of pressure.  Took the ball son and have another chance. He needs to learn that.

The Bears's offensive coaches need to share some blame.  Think back to the Super Bowl and tell me how often they asked Grossman to throw over the middle in the first half.  It was wide open the entire first half.  They finally threw there about the middle of the third quarter with success.  Grossman is much better with that then trying to chuck it 40+ yards and pray for a miracle.

Sure, it's feast or famine.  But he took his team to the Super Bowl.  Eli hasn't and probably won't anytime soon.  Unlike you, I can be rational and honest about my team.

And Eli over Brees is just idiotic.  You really have no grasp of team sports do you?

I second DraftSharks.com

I use their VBD app as a starting point for my draft prep, and if I were going to pay for a service, I'd use them in a heartbeat.

Cool.  Considering that now.  Didn't want to play for cash in this league but everyone insisted... if I win just one weekly prize because of the service it will have paid for itself.

It's a fun thing to do for the hell of it, i'm not basing my life over it or putting up a huge amount of cash.

This is not life changing stuff here. I think i will live after i see the outcome of this "bet".

Also, you didn't need to type up a whole page over this and get yourself all wrapped up in it, get a hold of yourself here, this is a worthless bet for the sake of betting type bet.   :dunno
