Brunos Marcos developed the "The Battle of Endor" and "The Battle of Yavin" Star Wars PC games which allow the player to use the mouse (or joystick/yoke) to control a Star Wars Fighter to shoot down the enemies. Pretty cool.
http://www.bruneras.com/I am trying to put these games on my driving cabinet since I would like to use my Star Wars yoke hack (MS Dual Strike Sidewinder joystick hack) to play these games. Thing is ..... on my driving cabinet I have 6 Microsoft Dual Strike Sidewinder hacks since I have multiple driving controls (Motorcycle handlebars, Spy Hunter wheel, yoke, pedals, etc...). All of these sidewinder hacks are connected to a USB Hub of course.
Now, after loading the Star Wars PC games, I tried to use the Star Wars yoke and realized it did not work. It seems my Spy Hunter steering wheel works though. This is because my Spy Hunter steering wheel is shown as device 1 in the list. My yoke is listed as device 5. This means that the Star Wars PC games simply find the first registered joystick device and uses that for input to the game.
My question is ..... how can I make my yoke come up as device 1 all the time?
I tried swapping the USB Hub connectors of my Spy Hunter and Yoke dual strikes to have the Yoke be in the first Hub position and the Spy Hunter wheel be in the 6th position, but this did not solve the problem. The Spy Hunter wheel came up as "device 1" anyway and the yoke came up as device 6 now.
I understand the order I connect stuff to the Hub does not actually relate to the order in which they come up as listed devices, but I thought it was worth a shot. Oh well.
Anyway, is there any way to get the Yoke to always come up as device 1?
BTW: There was something listed under the "MyComputer/Control Panel/Game Controllers/" settings which seem to allow me to set a device index to a sidewinder, but I could not get that to work properly. Is this something I should be messing with?
