Nice.  The article mentions Dire Straits' Brothers in Arms album.  I distinctly remember that coming out on CD as one of the first available rock CDs.  I started college that year (1985) and had the vinyl version of Brothers in Arms (great band, great album).  Someone I roomed with had the new fangled CD and I couldn't believe the sound quality.  As it was, when I got my first CD player that was one of the first CD's I purchased.  Good times, good times.....

They don't even mention how CD-singles used to all be on 3" discs. Anyone remember that?! (late 80's)

See, the Dutch are not just good for, tulips, drugs and wooden shoes!

BTW I remember that Dire Straits album on CD too. I even have some sort of "memory link" between Dire Straits and CD.
