Speaker HELP

Hi I have a Mortal Kombat 4 Jamma cab.  I want to throw in an amplified speaker system...But how the heck do you wire it up...Pc speakers use a typical headphone jack....and the out put from a jamma connector is just + & -....any help would be awsome thanks.

I think if you did a google search, you'll be able to find which wire is +/- on the speaker wires.

thanks...but i already know what wire is pos+, and neg_,,,i need someone to help with how in the world i turn that into a compadible connection with a set of pc speakers...i know i cant be the first on to want to do this...thanks

Its pretty simple if the line isn't amplified...just get at converter that goes to minijack and cut off the RCA ends and splice it to the respective positive and negative.

If it is amplified, then run it to a speaker box that radio shack sells where it takes an amplified line and converts it to rca.   Then just get some couplers to run it to minijack. ...though you will most likely get hiss.

Or of course just download it and forget the PCB.

JAMMA expects an amplified line, so ignore the first response, unless you are converting to something with an unamplified line.

As for the second response, let's slow down ... SUPER_SSII_TURBO -- what are you trying to do ? (e.g. why are you putting amplified PC speakers in a JAMMA cab).

I am thinking that there may be a better way to accomplish your goals than what you are suggesting.

you can use a home stereo system and a y-audio cable  to convert the white and red to a headphone jack

thats what i did and it sounds great

First you start coming in and personal attacking me on a thread....then you start PMing me.   What are you anyway a frickin' stalker?

I was simply trying to give some help and you offer absolutely NOTHING to the thread.

Come up with a suggestion and help the poor guy out instead of acting like a complete tool.

What I was getting at with my question to the OP was to find out if he is just trying to boost the volume of his MK4 boardset or if he is wanting to convert to a PC-based system or if he is wanting to go with a system that is swappable between JAMMA and PC.

The best solutions for each may be different since PC audio is typically unamplified stereo and JAMMA audio is amplified mono and, while everybody is happy to help with connectivity issue, I see the more important issue as proper amplification for decent sound quality. The actual connection is secondary.
