Anyone going to San Antonio Super Auction?
« on: August 16, 2007, 03:54:28 pm »
I saw that there is a Super Auction being held in San Antonio coming up August, 25th.

It is pretty close to Houston so I was wondering if anyone else is going?

For people that have been to these, do you get good deals and good prices?

"NO Minimum - NO Reserve!

200+ late model pieces.
Way to much to list!

All NEW Items were purchased exclusively for this auction!

Lots of 2006 & 2007 year machines.

Diversions Game Room is auctioning
2 separate facilities for this one day auction event.

Both facilities to be completely sold at this auction!
$750,000 Valuation"

The cat stands tall and green,
Well, he ain't no prize, and there's no women his size,
And that's why the cat's so mean"

haw.  WTF, I live in San Antonio now and didn't know about this.  They must still have me on their Missouri list.

I'll probably be there.  :)

Yeah, I signed up for the mailing list way back when hoping for a Houston one.  Hell, they didn't even list this auction on their catalog.  Just lucky I checked that email today.

If it isn't raining that weekend, I might try and make a trip over there.

I'll be there.  Word on the Houston list is that the distributor that sold the place all their games will be there buying them all back, so there won't be any deals.

I think it's 4 miles away from my place.

What list is that?

Anyone have a truck that wants to split gas?  I'm about 3 hours away in San Angelo and would go if I had a way to get the game(s) I bought back.

You could store the games in my garage.  I just wouldn't tell you where I lived. ;D

:)  Sure thing, after you send me $2500 via Western Union for these millions I have held in reserve in Nigeria for you...

Anyone know what kind of prices to expect at one of these?

Or what different types of machines go for?  Is this just a regular auction or silent?

EDIT: I'm gonna be a little helpful here... if you don't think it's worth it to rent a truck to come to this, you won't find anything there worth buying.

I'll fix this up for you so you sound less like a ---tallywhacker--- and more like a helpful BYOACer!

Thanks for the info, but I'd still like to go if anyone is heading that way, and although I can easily afford to rent a truck, I'd like to avoid that and go just for fun and to play games all day, with the option of buying one and coming back with it!

Then rent one if you need one when you get to San Antonio?

True enough, but I still need a ride down there or I'll be having to come back to get my car.  It's OK though, not my first auction, not my last.

But I am thinking of buying a truck as a third vehicle just so I can do things like this, it sucks not having a readily available one.  But then again, even if I did, I would ask for carpoolers to save on gas, good for the environment, good for the wallet.

Inside scoop?  Let me know if you know of one in a decent shape in the area looking for a home.
