Are coin mechs from Arcade Depot any good?
« on: August 16, 2007, 08:16:45 am »
I'm thinking about getting one of these coin mechs:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ILLUMINATED-ARCADE-COIN-DOOR-WITH-10p-MECH-LOCK-KEYS_W0QQitemZ270153384589QQihZ017QQcategoryZ3945QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem

Has anyone bought from these guys before? Are they any good?  I'm in the UK and I've only been able to find one other coin mech/door, which is the one Ultimarc sells ( http://www.ultimarc.com/controls.html#cabparts ).  The Ultimarc one doesn't look quite as nostalgic as the ones by Arcade Depot.

Also, they say they have them available with 2 coin mechs.  Is this really necessary for Mame?  Can you wire up a single mech to both of Mame's coin insert keys? Or is it better to just wire up to coin 1 if there's only one mech?

Cheers
