I have an outrun upright cabinet .... so got amongst other thing's an optipac thinking it would be easy enough but really don't know what to put where....
It's a 270^ wheel and all the pot's are intact....
For pots, you need the APac (or similar products like AKI). An optipac is for optical encoders on stuff such as trackballs, spinners and 360 wheels.
Pots are pretty easy to wire. There's three wires. One end is wired to power, the other to gound (usually you can switch the two to switch increase/decrease sides). The middle wire is the sensor wire and wired as such. The
apac2 shows this pretty clearly, but the original
apac is not labeled as clearly (probably since it can also do digital joystick inputs and labeled for that). Make sure whatever you wire the POT to can work with the POT value, too.
