*SOLVED* Frontends not appearing fullscreen... *SOLVED*
« on: August 11, 2007, 08:14:33 pm »
Hey guys!  Wow, it's been years since I last ventured into this forum, and indeed played around with mame....

Anyway, since getting back into the saddle two days ago, I have found a rather weird little problem that I never experienced before.  I have Mame running fine, and I'm trying out some different FE's.

At the moment, I have both MameWah and Mala running okay, but for some reason, they do not appear fullscreen, I can still see the desktop.  It's almost as though the resolution isn't being knocked down when the FE starts.  My old setup used HowardC's Dragonator FE, and I never had this problem.

I've had a search around, but couldn't find anything.  Any tips would be helpful!

Cheers,
-Ritchie.

****EDIT****

Found the option to resize the desktop in Windows to the Mala resolution.  Is there a similar option that I have missed in MameWah?!  I seem to remember there was config program for MameWah, but it looks seriously outdated now.

Open Mamewah.ini and change safe mode from 1 to 0.

Also keep in mind ....

MaLa works with two kinds of layouts, fixed size layouts and scalable layouts.

Fixed size layouts are for a specific resolution like 640x288 or 288x640 on arcade monitors. Fixed size layouts will only work on this resolution. Scalable layouts will scale to your selected screen resolution automatically. The only thing you have to consider is the ratio of your screen resolution.

Ah!  A handy link to a Wiki!  Champion!

Well, thats both of the FE's behaving now!  Thanks for taking the time to help a born-again.  I still need to audit my rather old collection of ROMS and trim them down a little.
