trackball slipping after i attempted to clean it.. help plz
« on: August 07, 2007, 09:50:49 am »
I have the classic arcade cabinet from slikstik, so its a Happ trackball.  After a lot of golden tee use, i noticed we couldnt hit the ball quite as far... I took the trackball apart and cleaned the rollers. After putting it back together, it "slips" when you hit it hard. Basically no movement at first, and as the ball slows down it works.  Obviously something isn't right.   For some reason though i feel its a config/driver issue moreso than a mechanical problem, but maybe the assembly is loose.

Any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

Open it back up, remove the ball and make sure each of the shafts spin freely when you move them with your fingers.

Also, wipe down the shafts with alcohol in case your cleaning agent left any oily residue.
