Bummer.  Why not build an addition on to your house that surrounds the cab?

You don't have any oversized windows?

Hmm, why not cut a hole in the wall of the house and make the cab "built in"?  ;D

Does any part of the plastic shell come off?

I almost bought one of those cabs at a recent auction. I wondered at the time how tough it would be to move around.  If I would have had a way to get it home, I would have had a $10 Die Hard cab and probably have had the same trouble you are having.
Brevity is not my strong suit.

How much to narrow is the doorway? Could you take out the door frame and get it in? If you pull the trim around the door and run a saws-all around the frame. It should release the frame in one piece and then you could just nail it back in. Had to do it once for a cabinet.

T8erbug, Yea it would JUST squeeze in if I removed the door frame, but its not my house I just rent a room so im not allowed to remove his door frame.

I could take the walkout basement window out when noones home and get a buddy to throw in there but then it would be trapped in the weight room with the same problem haha.

I have to believe the cabinet can be disassembled. Its a really strange plastic cabinet. I just need a extremely powerful drill to get out the rotten screws.

It sits on a 34" metal pad that looks like it was built to the bottom of the cab to never come off, could be wrong but there are 4 large iron rods coming out the bottom welded in there.. tommrow in the daylight ill have a better look at how its put together... hope she doesnt get too lonely out there :(

On the screws, if they wont back out you can usually use a drill bit half the diameter of the head to drill just deep enough for the heads to pop off. After you take the panel off you can use a pair of pliers to remove the rest of the screw.

I was able to pretty easily disassemble the cab in just 2 pieces with 8 screws and fit it into my door! Time to clean in up and I will post some pics!!  ;D

Hehe, it should be actually easier to clean it while it is disassembled.  Lucky you  ;D

I hate trying to get cabinets into my basement.  When I got my millipede I checked to make sure it would fit and everything but I forgot that people take up space also.  So nearly a broken hand latter and a few people we got it down.

There were a number of reasons I wanted to build my cab from scratch, and not dealing w/ this kind of problem was definitely one of them...

(Ended up carrying all the pieces to the basement first then
assembling it there)

The other main reasons?
> didn't want to hack a good old cab
> wanted the experience (pride?) of building it myself

The con's?
> No "original" cab (yet, heheh)
> More expensive?  In looking at some of these posts
you guys are getting amazing cab finds.  Bravo.   :applaud:

This should solve your problem.

I heard mention of some rusted or rounded phillips, and i have a solution.  Most of the time a square head bit will fit in perfect and remove said stripped screw.  I've had to do that on a number of occassions when some knuckle head did that.

It's a Die Hard cab... couldn't you have gotten it inside through the ductwork?   :dizzy:

Yes, but he can only get it up to the roof to throw it off.
