Testing a Golden Tee
« on: August 03, 2007, 10:37:52 am »
I recently acquired a Golden Tee Fore 2005 game (guts only) and I would like to test it out. Does anyone know if it is safe to plug into a standard JAMMA game? It says it is JAMMA, but the power is not connected via the JAMMA plug. I'm just trying to verify the board powers on and boots at this point, not play the game, and I don't want to fry it.

Here is a link to the manual.  How you apply power depends on if you have the red board or the green board.   I do would not plug into a jamma harness with another PS on it.  Connect the power as recommended by the manual.

I have the manual, and it is a green board. Does anyone actually know if plugging it into a standard JAMMA will harm it?

It says right in the manual not to supply power via the jamma connector.

"Because of current consumption, your Golden Tee Fore!
machines will perform best if power is safely re-routed
around the JAMMA connector"

The board uses more power than the jamma connected power can safely provide.
