Ipac 2 question.
« on: July 29, 2007, 11:38:56 pm »
Im slightly confused on this. Im about to order mine but it gives the option of Ps2 or USB cable. Does this mean it will come with a ps2 to usb converted cable? or the Ipac itself will run through USB rather than ps2 ports? and if so, is the USB version faster? Thanks for any help.

and do they only ship DHL for $14? or is my  browser bugged? Thats kinda high I think

Yes, it comes with a ps2 to usb cable, i wanna say it's 5 or 6 foot long.  I got the usb version so I don't have to use the keyboard passthrough.  If you want it a little cheaper on shipping, check with divemaster in the bst forum.

It is shipped from UK, so that's why it's $14.  Considering that, isn't really that bad.  About 3 days to deliver, too.  I checked the tracking of an order of mine, and it was in London one day, and on my doorstep the next (in IL, USA).

As for the cable, the PCB is the same, the only difference is a cable.  The IPAC will auto detect the interface and adjust accordingly.  The cable is a passive conversion cable (like the little adapter plugs that come with some USB mice).  I suggest getting the USB cable, as you can always get a PS/2 to PS/2 cable easily, but the PS/2 to USB cable is hard to find.
