The diamond plate really ties the upper monitor to the bottom section.  Very nice.

That's one hell of a bezel you made.  Great job!

Oh man.  I just finished getting the musical notes wired up.  It really tied the whole thing together.  I need to diffuse the light a little and spread it out about another half inch, then it will be perfect.  It looks cool as is, but with a little diffusion, it won't be so bright and it will have a very uniform covering of the notes.  Man I love it! :applaud:

I don't have pics of the lighting in action yet, but I do have pics of the construction of the led housings.  Enjoy!

Here is a divider/support that went between the musical notes.  I painted them black and drilled them out get them ready for the cam locks.

I also made the 1/4" plexi that actually holds the led's next.  I also drilled out for the bolts and counter sunk them.

Here it is with the led's hot glued into place.

Well, while I wait for video footage of the new lighting in action, I have decided to make the new Betabrite area.  Here are some pics of the almost completed section.  I have yet to hear back about an 1 1/2" trackball for the right side, so the paper stays on until I get that.  Otherwise, enjoy the candy:

Here is the front and back:

I also countersunk the Griffin Powermate volume control about 5/16".  I love the look and it came out real clean:

Here's a pic just showing that it doesn't go all the way through.  Once I get the thing apart, I plan on running the wire through the back.  I need to PM whammoed and find out how he did it.

Now to the betabrite section.  It is just sitting loose for now, so it may be a little off in the pics.  I cut out the center first, put a 1/4" round over on the face, then I put a 1/4" rabbit on the back for the smoked plexi.  This betabrite is one of the $100 ones from Netcat.

Although I'll probably not end up using the led due to painting, it did look cool with the lights off:

So why are you adding a trackball to it?

Because I need to access the second monitor from time to time and I hate lifting up the front to get to a mouse.  I figured once freebox is running, it will be useless anyways, so it shouldn't be a big deal.

Okay, here are a couple of prelimanary vids of the new lighting.  I'm still trying to find a diffuser to make them perfect, but to the naked eye, they look pretty solid.  I can't find a camera that can capture the light properly in the dark.

I just keep a wirless keyboard an mouse handy for mine, however you always like to go the extra mile or 10.

To be honest, I have no issues with that idea, but I was thinking about long term, and I just don't want to mess with lifting the lid or batteries down the road.  But I do agree with you about what a pain it is.

You really need to upgrade that skin dude, i suggest either the Black and Blus skin or the Black and Red. The videos look pretty sweet though.

Will do.  I just finished routing out the touchpad area.  I'm going to try and figure out how to mount everything later this evening.

Hopefully I'll have them up tonight!  All the routing is done, I just need to paint the plexi and then figure out how I'm going to mount it.
