I am thinking that a game of Arkanoid could be fun.

A quick poll, for those of you who own one of these:

1 Does it matter whether I buy the SpinTrak or the TurboTwist?
2 Do I need a flyweight?
3 If I also want to play Discs of Tron, do I then need the Blackhawk push/pull spinner?
4 Is that spinner worse than the other two when playing Arkanoid?
5 It's been said here before that the Tornado spinner is useless for Arkanoid. Is that so?

I have the Turbotwist 2 with the BYOAC token knob. With this knob you don't need any weighted flywheel because the knob itself acts as one. It feels and looks great, plugs in very easily and installs like a push button does. What more could you ask for.

I second the Turbo Twist.  The feel and ease of installation are great.  But if you're looking for a Disc of Tron type spinner, than the Turbo Twist won't work for you.

Not very much.

Biggest difference is how they are mounted; four point screw on + 1/4" center hole vs single button size hole.  1000 vs 1200 cpr is a small difference, since both are greater than the original.

They can swap knobs, so that's not an issue IMO.

:dunno  Buy both ;D

2 Do I need a flyweight?

Not for arkanoid (the original controller use gears that slowed it down.  Tempest, OTOH, had a flywheel.  If you get one of the heavier knobs, it's a good compromise.

Yes,
Yes, and
Useless might be a little strong (although others will same yes).  How about "Not as nearly as good as the original, or SpinTrak or TurboTwist2"

Both should do fine on Arkanoid. I would buy any of those instantly if they had some sort of a optional "mode change" button for changing between x, y and z axis while playing. I've been waiting and hoping that someone would come up with this. Games like "Ball 7" uses both x and y and it would be great to also be able to switch to the z axis for scrolling thru gamelists and documents. Personally I would hope for a quick tap on the "mode change" button to switch between x and y and by holding it a couple of secs it would switch to the z axis. The same way back from the z axis. Anyone heard of this ?

I think the flyweight is important (or a heavy knob). I currently have a couple of Oscar Controls Tempest spinner remakes with flywheels.
