Ok joystick experts!
« on: July 22, 2007, 02:27:06 am »
Got back from Funspot tonight and a lot of the games there have this very small leaf switch joystick.  Ball top, but the ball is about half the size of a Wico.  I've been looking for one of these for a long time.  Frogger and a lot of the Taito games had it there.  It's the size of a Joust/Defender joystick ball but 4 way.  Any idea who made these?

BTW They have a bunch of new games there for those who haven't been in a while.  I also peeked in the mini golf room and they had even more (Dragon's Lair, Space Ace and more).  I'm still hoping at some point they'll get Omega Race and Sinistar.  They have a Quantum now so maybe it's not too much to hope for a Black Widow.    :)

Wico made those.  The holes in the grommet, washer and actuator were smaller to accomodate the smaller joystick.  My original frogger joystick didn't have Wico specifically stamped on it, but the parts are interchangable with other Wicos I have so I'm 99% sure.

Thanks for the info.  Time to set up an eBay search.   :)

I picked one up in a bulk sale a few years ago, but mine has no visible markings on it.

The parts on the one that I have are NOT interchangeable with Wico stuff.
The leafswitches are shorter, the grommets are smaller, the hole in the grommet is smaller, and the leafswitches bolt on.
