Little WIP, then CP wood / CPO art material questions.
« on: July 19, 2007, 03:06:13 pm »
Good day.
My project is running well.
Now that all main parts are collected (buttons, monitor, pc)
it has come to the final parts, making a CP and connecting/wiring
everything.

This is the host:

The first major worry is that the cabinet was originally a sitdown
version, with a seat that is long gone.
The lowest point of the Control Panel Drawer measures at 80cm / 31.5"
from the floor.  This means that it is too low to stand in front of it, yet
most chairs are too low themselves when sitting and still controlling
a CP.  The architecture of my CP (2 joy+6 but, + 1 joy/3but in middle)
will be a challenge, and might have to be at an angle. (any help is welcome here !).

Anyhow, to the questions.

1)  I will likely opt for a drawer style CP, what kind of wood and thickness
do you all suggest ?  I have almost no idea about any wood materials and
I am at a total loss.

2) Anyone can suggest me an alternative to the material for a CPO offered
at mamemarquee.  I could consider visiting a copy store and have my
artwork printed there on some kind of sticker, but is there a specific
kind of "paper" i should look forward to have it print on ?  anything else
to consider ?

Thank you for your time if you made it this far  :applaud:
