Pacman "original pcb" has weird MAZE layout, what's up ?
« on: July 14, 2007, 01:07:15 am »
Hi , bought a Pacman COCKTAIL machine from Ebay, original ALL THE WAY so the seller said.  Got it home and the screen is different from the normal PAC screen.  The MAZE has small CIRCLES instead of LONG ones outlining some of the maze.  Not only does this look ODD, but you can actually MOVE pacman through these doubled spaces.  Hopefully the pic came up so you can see.  I peeked inside and it's a factory power supply, wiring and appears to be a factory BOARD.  Was the pcb in the original PACMAN cocktail slightly different than the UPRIGHT version?  Thanks

That would be a Pac-Man variant called "Hangly-Man" I think.  You can check it out here:

Here's a bit of trivia on it also.

"According to the Japanese Engrish [sic] page (a page dedicated to the Japanese's mangling of english on their products, etc.), "Hangly Man" was an attempt at "Hungry Man".

Yeah, I saw that one on Ebay.  You also seem to have 4 more tunnels.  Are these cross-tunnels (get in top left, get out bottom right, etc.) or just straight left-right?
