Does the Electrohome GO8 require an Isolation transformer?  and if so what kind...1:1 etc....

The infamous G08, a most wonderfull color XY monitor that tended to catch fire!


If I recall, G08's need isolated 45vdc center tapped power transformer(+45vdc, common and -45vdc).     I don't *think* that the tranformer provided any other voltages as is common with other XY monitors, but you might want to check one of the Sega XY game manuals to be sure.

Out of sheer morbid curiosity,  what are you using the G08 for?  Doesn't sound like you've got it in a Sega cab, or you would probably already have the trans for it.

I have a friend that has 30 or so monitors laying in his shop, so one night he told me for every monitor I 'fix/cap' I can have one, so I grabbed about 6 monitors (this was around midnight and a 12 pack and I wasnt really paying attention to what I was grabbing) and I ended up with 2 K4900's, some GO7's and that GO8.  I am just gonna give the GO8 back since I dont want an explosion of fire in my garage.
