more often than not, I get errors when starting games


C:\mame>mame wjammers
sfix.sfx NOT FOUND
sp-s2.sp1 NOT FOUND
sm1.sm1 NOT FOUND
000-lo.lo NOT FOUND
ERROR: required files are missing, the game cannot be run.


I got my games from a DVD company, so i thought they would all be working...but that does not seem to be the case.  any help is lovely

The rom files listed as missing are in neogeo.zip which contains the bios roms for all neo geo games.  Sounds like you are missing it.

that worked beautifully with that one...

C:\mame>mame gng
gg-pal10l8.bin NOT FOUND
ERROR: required files are missing, the game cannot be run.

i copied the entire folder of rom files to my system but i still seem to be missing a bunch of files  (not just this game...this is just an example)

If you have other rom problems  you should use one of the rom management programs to do a audit of all your roms.
