OK...so i purchase a set of Nintendo VS sideart from a company for $64.99 + $10.00 S&H.  The company I purchased from is a side-company from a member of one of the forums I frequent (not this one).  The side art arrives in a BOX,  not a tube.

It has 2 creases...one of them not-so-bad,  the other pretty bad.   I've installed enough side-art to know the crease/distortions WILL show when installed...even if barely.

QUESTION:  Do I (A) complain and ask for some $$ back,  (B) complain and ask for all my $$ back (shipping him the art back and losing out $10 for shipping to me and whatever it costs to ship back to him, (C) suck it up and live with it.

I am having a pretty shittastic day thus far and I figured I better ask for opinions before just jumping the gun.

New or NOS?  If new, they owe you.  If NOS, well, the stuff is getting harder to come by in good shape.

I just checked his website...the side-art isn't listed any longer,  but the rest of his VS artwork is NOS...so it's more than likely NOS.  I wish he'd have mentioned the condition in the description of the art.  I can't freakin' STAND creased artwork...I'd have likely not bought it had I known...it's just VS unisystem sideart,  nothing special...could have had it REPRO'd cheaper and without a crease.

I am just in one helluva mood today.  I received 2 marquee's I've been waiting on with missing YELLOW color in both.  It's being re-printed but that means another week or two...life will go on.  Then I get this package opened to find creased artwork...argh.

I'd say it's at least worth mentioning your disappointment to him.  Maybe he'll do something for you.

Side business or not, it's still a business, so they should be expected to stand by their work.  Every customer is different, and if those creases really get to you, I say you have every right to demand your money back if you feel it's warranted.

They should have
1) Told you about the creases if they were there already.  This effects the value of any item, especially NOS..
2) Packaged the material properly.  There's no point is selling something as NOS (or Brand New) when it gets to you looking like it's been used.

What Chris said, for sure. Definitely start with that approach.

Here is the best shot I can get of the issue.  You can see the crease best in the blue area.  It is actually like that throughout the entire fold,  more or less,  but on camera the blue seems to come across the best.  I am worried that crease will really show once applied to the side of the cabinet.

If the sideart has any vinyl like qualities....you could possibly set it in the hot sun for awhile and see if the crease will relax a bit to work it out.
A heat gun would help too, but I don't recommend chancing it if you're not used to doing it with one. (hairdryer maybe)

major suck. I had this problem with classicarcadegraffix. They sucked. They would combine 2 USPS shipping boxes and try to roll the artwork in it. It came creased the first time and I complained. They sent out another one and it was also creased. I made it work and promised not to buy from there again.

The lack of my business caused them to fold up. I made a difference!  :D

I forgot to tell you what I would do if I were you. Given the 2 choices I would ---smurf---

Man, I've been going through two weeks of hell over a joystick with an idiot.  Contact them first to see what happens.  That is unacceptable from a seller.  If he/she says no to anything then you are still in the same position.

I would ask for shipping both ways to be paid for by the seller, but that is just how I roll (that is funnier if you saw the ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- I am getting for asking for my shipping of $8 back on my joystick issue).  Good luck.

Given a choice I would definitely not Smurf.
That game sucked.
They should have filled the landfill with that one way before they filled it with E.T.
