Arcade chairs
« on: July 06, 2007, 10:50:36 am »
Any suggestions on where I could find some tall chairs/barstools for a decent price for my upright machine (I'm too lazy to stand).  Thanks ahead of time.

If you were local, I'd give you a pick of two different sets...

Anyways, Lowes carries bar stools for decent prices.

If you have an IKEA nearby (ikea.com) you can check out their selection of stools. I think they ship if not. I will buy a couple of these for my cab when its finished.

Very comfortable especially leaning back against the backrest. Also they seemed very sturdy for my big ass when I tested them
They come in 2 sizes:
25" for 19.99
29" for 24.99

Yep...I just got some from Lowe's. Nice oak with a comfy black cushion top...bout $35 each.

Also if there is a Pepboy's in your area, they usually have the "shop" stools for about $30.00...sometimes on sale for $19.99

Talk about coincidences...
I just finished some major work on my cab on Tuesday,
saw this chair w/ the big "FREE" sign laying on the roadway
on Wednesday (and picked it up),
then this post later in the week...

had to share.

I got some tall padded black stools with backs from Walmart or something a few years back.  The biggest problem with any stool is making sure that you have enough "knee" room.  I find that I am better off standing otherwise my knees are smooshed into the front of the cabinet and it gets uncomfortable after a little bit.

They have a nice swivel top and foot stool.

I bought a couple of these from overstock.com

Pretty comfortable, no back though.

I picked up a pair from Target a couple of months ago and they are awesome. The wife and I can sit on them for hours (literally) without getting uncomfortable. They don't have a back, but I found that I usually am leaning forward while playing anyway.

I'll snap a few pics and upload them soon.

In the interest of nostalgia, I don't think I could ever "sit" in front of a classic cab- it's going too much in the direction of the old ladies parked in front of the slot machines..

I picked some up at Wal-Mart for about $20. Nice padded seats with backs-worth looking into, at least.
$6.75 the hard way-one quarter at a time.

:laugh2: Well...most of us are getting older! I wonder if my wife would bring me free diluted alcoholic beverages while I stay parked?

Check out your local Goodwill.  Seems they are now the overstock outlet for Target or something, and the ones in my area get new in box stuff all the time at super good prices.
I've seen several types of barstools lately in the $20 range.
The same ones I see at Target for $50.

thought Goodwill was a really odd place to get your liquor...
