MAMEWah music
« on: July 06, 2007, 08:04:28 am »
Something weird happened as I was playtesting my cab this morning...
I have a music directory setup in Mamewah to play a retro "Tron" theme
in the background, and but when I launched a PC game (Star Wars
Starfighter) it launched, but kept playing the Tron music on top of the
game music/sounds.  Anyway to fix this (other than not having music
playing in the Mamewah menu at all)?

Works fine on MAME, the music shuts off there...

I don't have mamewah here with me (I'm on vacation), but the first thing to mind is to try playing with the safe-launch setting.

??  :dunno probably a focus issue, so try safelaunch.  But it may be that it is another application (eg your pre-app commandlines for winipac etc) contributing to the problem.  I find this sorta thing is more likely to happen if you have other windows open.

Hey Zeb, welcome back... did you finish your move?

Not sure how to do the safelaunch.   Could be b/c I'm using
an older version? (.963)

Hey Zeb, welcome back... did you finish your move?

No move yet Vid, but it is imminent.  Just making some final preparations now!

I'm pretty busy.  I've got to finish and sell off another one or two (or three!) more mame cabs before I go ... I counted eight cabs at home the other day!

Just put {safelaunch} immediately at the end of your emulator command line in the pcgame.ini file.  Check out jcrouse's site for MameWAH ini examples.

cheers 4 now :D

Tried safelaunch, didn't work.
Well, not a big problem I have to solve right now.

Zeb -- did a LOT more work on my cab last week,
check out my site (just the first page of the site
is updated, did more work on the cab vs. the site)...
pretty much shows a photo of where I'm at.

Wow, lookin' good.
Pretty sliiiick!   Blue t-molding is good.

Now you really need to make a bezel to hide the TV case.

I'm impressed with what you did with the TV, adding the power switch etc.

Thanks!
I was thinking I was done w/ the bezel, given the
black panels I put up (yeah I know you can see the TV
case a little bit).  At this point I'm not ready to crack it
open again just to gain another 2 cm worth of bezel,
I felt like it was ok as-is.

The last major wood work (for this year) is to get the speakers mounted
properly, will probably wait another few weeks/months for
that since life is getting in the way... AND I want to finish
the electronics for the trackball first to make it playable,
need to finish my mouse-hack for that.
