Why can't I find graveyards like this in SoCal?
« on: April 22, 2003, 07:40:10 pm »
You guys seen this yet?

http://www.mameworld.net/cgi-bin/wwwthreads/showpost.pl?Board=mameworldgeneral&Number=102259&page=0&view=expanded&mode=threaded&sb=7#Post102259

I guess I shouldn't be complaining that I can't find a graveyard of arcade games, but it would be nice to stumble across a load of old games free for the taking. I just don't know where to look in southern california.

This must be the same town where the ratio of guys to girls is 1 to 9, the average cost for gas is $.98 a gallon, and dogs crap quarters.

You and me both will never find this place.

My lord. I see a Sega R-360 in there. I am sure it doesn't work, but those parts would be worth a mint.

Yeah, R-360 is the one that spins around in all directions. There is at least part of one in that picture.

i like how he says that the japanese namco import cab cant be used because it is too short, but the one he eventually got is almost exactly the same!  "Japanese must have short legs".  hehe  ::)

Whaaaa!!! So sad to see so many good pieces just rot away!!! Makes me even more careful about my own cab... treating it like a baby! Who knows for how long classic cabs will keep on existing. I know for one that the only machines standing around here in denmark are car games with cockpits, no up-rights at all left at the places I have looked!

God save the arcade, for ever!!!

Well he thinks that the Japanese 'Sit-At' cabs are made to be played standing up.  Thats the funny thing.  They are called "Sit-At's" for a reason :D

You mean Japanese people aren't really 3ft tall?
