Pump it Up for cab?
« on: April 22, 2003, 04:36:54 am »
Ok, I can't stand DDR, but I really like "Pump it Up"

http://www.redoctane.com/pumpitupbundle.html

I found that for the PC. Does anyone here have it? How are the pads? Is it worth getting?

It is the arcade version just on the PC.  You can simulate it for free with stepmania...

What's the difference between Pump it Up and DDR?  SirP, do you know where to get the media files for stepmania to simulate Pump it Up?

Whoo whoo whoo. I downloaded stepmania,  (the Pump it Up package is right below the main download on the download page), and about 600 songs. It is awesome.

http://www.ddruk.com/

has tons of songs to play in stepmania.

Main difference between DDR and Pump it Up is that DDR has arrows like this

 O
O O
 O

and Pump it Up has them like this

O O
 O
O O

Other differences. DDR songs tend to be a bit faster, while Pump it Up songs look a bit more like actual dancing than DDR does.

What paige said, also on stepmania's site there is a link to pump it up stuff.

I can't get use to pump it up since I played ddr first.  ddr has a wide range of speeds of songs.  From 60 beats per minute to 300 beats per minute.  Pump is pretty simular.

Also, there is an extended version of DDR that has the buttons like this:

XXX
X X
 X

Both pump and ddr if you have two pads you can play on both pads with one person, head to head with same song and same steps, ot a mode where you work together with different steps per pad.
