WTB: Carriage Bolts for CPs
« on: June 18, 2007, 09:13:48 am »
Hi guys :)

I'm searching for some carriage bolts in small size for fixing controlpanels.

I mean these:

Here in Germany I can only find those screws in larger sizes (5mm and more) but I need small ones (3-4mm) for the controlpanels.

Can you tell me if and where you guys get them from?

Thanks.

I've been looking at divestar. edit: divemaster  ::)

Happ black powder coated carriage bolts .25 each these are hard to get
  Carriage bolt 10-24 x 3’’ black
 Carriage bolt 10-24 x 2’’ black

To be honest, I don#t know what those measures mean? 3" and 2" ist the length I guess.

But what means 10-24? What is the diameter of the screws?

The 10-24 has to do with pitch and thread count. I believe the actual diameter of the thread portion of these is around the 3/16" you are wanting. Either way, they are direct replacements for the control panels I have done.

You are correct - the 3" and 2" is the length. These are the standard diameter bolts for mounting joysticks and such. About the 10-24: The first number is the diameter, and the second is the threads per inch. There is a formula for determining what the actual diameter is, but a 10 is about 3/16 of an inch.

Make sure if you order from DM that you specify you want the nut as well - I ordered a bunch a ways back and only got the bolt...

Thanks. You are right....I need the nuts, too. Hehe, that would be "funny": I'd have the bolts but not the nuts :D

So 3/16" is ~4,7mm...hmmm...that's quite a lot. The ones I have are smaller....I will measure them....
