wiring question using 4 Ipac
« on: June 18, 2007, 01:12:23 am »
Im not really knowledgeable when it comes to wiring so i was hoping you can look over this and make sure its right.

I was going to wire the buttons/joysticks with standard 22AWG. Im going to use the little metal clippers to connect one end to the buttons/joysticks (buttons are microswitch) and insert the other end into the Ipac by stripping and folding the end before i insert it into the ipac

So i got a couple questions about all this

1. ive heard you should ground all the wires. How does one do so?
2.  Since im using microswitch buttons, do i use two separate wires to wire the buttons (One wire connected to the common contacts and one on the NO contact) then insert both the other ends into one button slot?

There is basic wiring info and diagrams/pictures on www.ultimarc.com/ipac2.html

One wire runs around all the COM contacts on all switches and connects to the GND connection on the I-PAC. The NO connections areindividually wired to each I-PAC terminal as you mention.

You could always drop me an email if you need help: andy@ultimarc.com

ah, that helps a lot. I saw that diagram before but didn't know what it meant until you explained it. Thanks a lot.
