I need help with my Sega Megalo 410
« on: June 04, 2007, 11:39:48 pm »
Hello all, I am new to the message board.  What brings me around is my Sega Megalo 410 Cabinet, and I need help.

Like the tittle says I need help with new arcade cab. I bought this the cab for only $25 but here is the catch I need to fix or find a replacement for a "GP-1 Sub Power P.W.B". I don't even know what it is or does but I'm assuming it needs to be fixed. The pictures below should clarify what I'm talking about.

i think thats the power supply board for the rear projection screen in your cab,i think its a mitsubishi but you can check by looking at the back of your cab.
i know similar replacement boards for other models can be very expensive so a repair maybe the route to take
i am in the process of fixing an early mitsubishi 50p-ghs41 power supply that took a drink, they are not the easiest of boards to fix.
do you know the problem with your power board

The problem is that there is a crack across the board, the pictures below should clarify it.

that is a serious crack,it can be repaired by linking the traces BUT you must be 100% sure you do it perfectly-best way to start is to scratch off the trace surface across the entire crack, super glue the broken piece of board back in and do the same there.rather than use insulated wire just use the tinned wire itself to bridge across
so you need to get a good soldering iron and a magnifying lens and plenty of patience.
