Need 19" vertical monitor
« on: April 19, 2003, 05:18:55 am »
I need a 19" monitor for my Gorf project.  KLOV says it's a 19-inch Electrohome, another site says it's Electrohome 19" Color Dual Sync Horizontal Monitor or Wells-Gardner 19" Color Dual Sync Horizontal  but any compatible would be fine.  I also need the hardware to mount it to the cab.  Anyone have a source for a low budget?

They say patience is a virtue, and ignorance is bliss.  So I guess you can have a pretty good life if you're stupid and don't mind waiting around.

A vert monitor is just a horizontal monitor on it's side  :)

well... I'm not positive, but you can probably put almost any ( save for a nintendo monitor) arcade monitor in there.

Wells Gardner/happs et al... sell 19" arcade monitors...  but they you have to pay shipping.

It's probably best to talk to local distributors (or that guy you bought the gorf from)...   locally to me there's a guy who caps/refurbs monitors and stuff...

kands monitor page

That's just an example ... me personally... I would pay 75 - 125 for a 19" used/refurb arcade monitor... *shrug*

ONe technique is to buy ANOTHER game that is super crappy (or has good monitor/missing boards) and take the monitor from it =P

*Shrug* that's just my opinion.

You may want to ask Jamie Fenton (www.fentonia.com), who orignally designed Gorf.

You can also use a Nintendo monitor as well. Two of my games have them. Most of them just have a little switch to change back to normal video.

A great condition used monitor should be about 75. 25-50 for a crappy to OK one. 200 for a new one.
