1240 Lyndon Avenue
Griffin, Georgia
View Map

Preview: 8:00AM to 10:00AM
Auction starts at 10:00AM

This time around my partner's uncle wont be rushed to the hospital before they get to the Raiden II cab I wanted, and went for $75...I am also bringing an electripack so I dont have to worry about the power going out every couple minutes...

Results of the last auction:
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=63020.msg630911#msg630911

Hopefully there wont be as many dead cabs this time around.  So who else is going to be there?

You know I wanted to buy two of those dead cabs, an S-TV that needed a new monitor (Die Hard Arcade was in it), and a NeoGeo 4 slot, which had three games in it.  But what you did with it is far beyond what I was going to.  That is just pretty.

But this time my group wont look like we work there.

And again I'll take a look at the pictures that somebody hopefully posts...read the list of machines that went for a few (or more) bucks and dry some tears in my eyes that something like that doesn't happen in germany  :hissy:

...could someony please buy a Tempest upright for me and ship it to Gemany for $100 (shipping only of course) ;)

Ok Artmame, you are going down...

Luigi, aslong as they are cool with it, Ill try to take pics of the cabs.  I dont really see a problem, but Id like to throw in that caveat just in case.

I took pics at the last one.  Click on the pic to see the photoalbum:

http://home.earthlink.net/~asumner/artsarcadelab/id31.html

I asked Mr. JR for permission beforehand(short bald guy with glasses and teeth missing), and he was appreciative that I asked permission.  Ask one of the auctioneers before hand, so that if anybody says anything, you can say JR or Johnny or whomever said it was OK.

I am so ready... let's get it on!!!

Son of a GUN, we'll have BIG FUN at the SUPERAUCTIONS!!!

That was my plan.  Them or the girls running registration.

I have also thought about bringing a battery pack, but I think Ill take a few blowouts over lugging that thing around.  Its pretty much a car battery and an inverter.

And how could we have anything but fun at these things?  Free arcade games for two hours, thats living s dream.

Just got back... not many pieces this time... maybe 100 :-[ or so... last one they had there had three times as many pieces...

Several board members were there and we all walked away with some great deals.  But it was still pretty scant  ??? .  The auction was over by lunchtime... :dunno

Still lots of fun...I will post pics and prices later.

I walked out with a unicorn of a cab for me:
http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f394/fastbilly1/DSCF1095.jpg
Before today I had never seen a VS cocktail/camptop.  I have seen other games, but never a vs.  Both sides work aswell.  Now to find a Dr Mario pcb.

A friend of mine bought the MvC competition cab, and another bought the Econofloss cotton candy maker.  Over all I will say it was the smallest I have been to, but I also think I had the most fun at this one.  As per JR's approval, I have pics of the overall, Ill post them after I have more than a couple hours of sleep in me.  And after a couple games of VS Baseball.

Ya there was a lot more stuff last time. I got the other mvs 10 bucks . If I had lager transportation  I would have bought  more. thennoeking I was the one that said it look like a bbq grill. That cab is just not my favorite style of cab but it is unique and playable .    I still can't believe that the multigames go for so much.

The funny thing is after we dropped off and set up the MvC - which only needed some tweaking on the vert and horiz holds and a new quick connect, we had just my cab strapped to the back of the truck with only a partial cover (it is only a couple blocks from one house to the other).  During that time we had two people offer to buy it.  I actually like the design a fair amount.  I mean it is a bit gaudy, but it is also unique, it draws your attention to it.  Sadly it makes me look like a Georgia fan (I am an Auburn alumni).

Worse case scenario, it breaks and I mame it with LCD screens for my Gauntlet cab.

Question?

Ive never been to an auction but plan on hitting the next one in my area.  For instance, the NEO that had the $100 worth of games inside, do these people that enter these machines into the auctions know the values of their machines?   I think i wouldve researched first before throwing in an auction a cab full of games.  Hello EBAY.

I was just curious.  Looks like alot of ms pac and galaga cheap for the taking.  I can't wait to go to my first auction.  I hope to grab some decent cabs.

While I dont have a Powerdroid or R5D4, well life sized, but atleast it is in good company:

Artmame, I wouldnt have touched that Arabian with a 10 foot pole.  It had been on Craigslist a couple times and the insides are shot.  Needs a new psu, romset, all new wiring, and probably a new monitor.  The fella who owned it said it was plugged straight into the wall and one day just wouldnt turn on.  He never thought that the thunderstorm a couple nights before could have had anything to do with it.

And Id say you got the best deal out of everyone.  A nice looking Pole Position standup, and they paid you to take it...
