FS: Diablo Battle Chest (NH-USA)
« on: June 01, 2007, 11:56:09 am »
Wife finally gave me the go ahead to sell the other copy of the Diablo Battle Chest that we had so here I am offering it to BYOAC before I try craigslist.  It's nearly 4 years later so the price is down to $10 plus shipping.  The whole thing is here including strategy guides, the main one has been tabbed for easier browsing.

Here's the original posting:

I have no idea what something like this is worth now a days.  Haven't played in like 4 years or something like that...

I think for now I'll ask for $15 each plus shipping which I'm fairly sure will be cheap due to this being eligible for media mail.  Both sets include all original boxes books and disks with CD Keys still attached to the jewel cases/cd sleeves.

Well I guess I should explain what the Battle Chest is for those who might not know...

In the one box comes Diablo, Diablo II and Diablo II L.O.D. expansion.

If you only want the CD Keys I will be selling those for the same $15 but shipping wont be necessary because I will email them.  When the buyer is satisfied I will then destroy my copies.

If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

OK, so I can't find one of the strategy guides that originally came with the sets.  Found it! Since shardian was the first to reply he'll get it (that is of course unless he decides he doesn't want it) and I will continue looking for the book.

The price will not change for a set sans book because I feel as though this is still a good deal after checking out what they are going for on ebay.

That's wild that this game is still worth so much.

I paid $20 for Diablo 2 and Warcraft 2 with expansions back in.... 1999?  Jeez.  Some kinda bundle deal with instant rebate.

I'll always have a warm place in my heart for Diablo 2... I had a job being a part time network admin when I was in college, and I got sent to the IT dept's building.  I had been there about 5 secs before this giant of a man grunts at me, "do you play Diablo 2?" before handing me a copy.

Turned out he was running a server that could also be accessed from dialup.  Hooked me up with the game, dial up account with internet access, etc.

All highly illegal as it was being run on state owned equipment, but hey.

5 years later, he was STILL playing it.  Used to write code on one terminal and play Diablo 2 in nightmare mode simultaneously on another.

Some chinese student had installed a no-cd version of diablo II on almost every single workstation (about 100) in the library when I went to Marshall U. I always had a habit of checking the Kazaa caches on any machine I used to see if anyone had downloaded anything good. ;) I showed a friend this one day and I'm pretty sure that this was directly attributable for him flunking out. :laugh2:

My GF has just informed me that I can't sell her copy.  Like she'll ever play it again... ::)

Therefor, the only copy I have to sell is sold.

P.S. She knew right where the other strategy guide was.  :P

Well I have to say, you have a pretty cool GF if she plays Diablo. I am proud to say my wife plays the Resident Evil games, but it is hard to get her into much real gaming. I did get her addicted to Robot Arena 2 for a while (BTW, if you've never played that and you are diy/mechanically inclined, GET THAT GAME NOW). She actually got pretty good at designing. On only her second design, she built a robot that she won like 4 straight seasons in dominating style with.  :dizzy:

Ashamed as I am to admit it, my GF is the one who got me into DII.  When we first started dating, I would talk to her on the phone and in the background I'd hear "moo, moooooo, moo"...  Most of the time it was her second cousin playing but she played too.  Diablo II is THE reason that we have two computers.  One of which has a broken screen (it's a laptop) but that's a different story.

Selling the other copy finally so I figured I'd bump this ~4 year old topic.

Now THAT game is epic.... I beta tested it.  LOVED it from the first 5 minutes, heck I would still play it today... Maybe I should dig out my copy...
