i am in the process of setting up my cab.  I'm going to have a 27" betson and the speakers are going to be right above the monitor facing down, probably less than 3 inches from the screen.  I'm sure most peoples cab setups are similar.. but should i be concerned having computer speakers that close with only less than an inch of wood between them?

Most computer speakers are magnetically shielded so they should be fine. If you see any discolouration of the screen then try a degauss, if its still there, then you need to change the speakers. Sometimes just rotating them is enough to minimize the disturbance, remember to let the monitor cool after the degauss so it will do it again.

Your speaker psu, should not been close to the monitor trouch, since I did have similar problems. But the speackers itself should been a no problemo (like richms said).

You should not need to turn monitor of after the defauss.
