FS: Region-free Dreamcast+2controllers+accessories
« on: May 19, 2007, 03:38:36 pm »
I've decided to sell one of my many dreamcasts. My friend Koji picked this up for me when if he was coming back from Akihabara. I played it for 2 months then never touched it.

This is a full region-free DC, no boot disc needed for either japanese or american games, 2 original 1st party controllers with VMUs, S-video cord, A/V and power cables and the Official Dreamcast carrying case.

I originally payed 280$ for this, but I do understand how no one will pay that now a days, So I'm just going to throw out 75$ + shipping OBO

Now here are the pics.

Thanks for looking, hopefully I can get a good home for this.

If a boot disc is not needed, why is included?  :dunno

For the extra games I'm throwing in on the side. I have a MvC2 remix disc with custom music. It requires the boot disc to load.

You are aware that not only is it illegal to sell bootlegged games, more importantly, it violates the rules of this forum right?

The moderators of this site are not incompetent and can easily figure out what "extra games" games are.

I suggest you modify your post before it is sent to the fiery pits of Post Hell.

Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

I was not selling them trying to separate, I was just going to throw in some of the games I have already. but I will take them off if I am causing trouble.

It's ironic that this rule is applied by people who play Mame. If he gives it away, it's not illegal.

Same goes for drugs, huh?  ::)

That is ignorant. It is illegal, but more importantly it is against the rules of this forum.

I can sit here and argue about Mame, but all the forum members will be in an uproar.

Sorry for messing up your selling thread Mikei. Hope you sell the Dreamcast.

Giving away or selling copyrighted material for which you do not have permission from the copyright holders is illegal. You can make whatever personal moral judgements on it you like, but there's no disputing that it's illegal. ROMs and "backups" are not allowed here for that reason.

And since you mentioned, don't forget this is not a MAME site. I like MAME, but but this is not a MAME site. http://arcadecontrols.com/BYOAC-and-MAME.shtml

Thanks!

Stating that "backup" games will be included "for free" or "on the side" doesn't really change what's going on.

Person A is giving person B a set amount of moneys for a set amount of goods.  You'd have to be an extremely dense person to believe that when you buy a 16oz bottle of shampoo that claims you're only paying for 12 is anything but an age old sales tactic.

Ok...I get your point. It's ok to download, stolen games off the internet, just as long as you don't put them on a CD and sell them.

Sorry for upsetting everyone who plays stolen illegal games.

Well, kinda, you are. Also, you are definitely being a troll. Nobody mentioned downloading anything off the internet. Nobody said they do that, and nobody said they condoned that. This site is about building arcade controls. Nowhere does it say that you have to illegally download anything. Did you know they have legal arcade compilations for the PC? That is right. You could use that software with your arcade controls. The link saint pointed you to pretty much says it all.

We all know that many people here use mame on their rigs. We aren't naive, but that doesn't mean that you should be facilitating the use and trading of such things. The rules are the rules. They are there for a reason, and that reason isn't for you to philosophically pick them apart. Just follow them or go someplace else. No use being a turd because you have a stupid opinion.

people, I'm buying the dream cast from him. I told him I don't want or need the "backed up" games, I have a huge collection and a broken dream cast.  therefore we all win, nothing illegal is going on. Its ironic I'm getting a dream cast from byoac, since I traded my first dream cast to delta 88 for a coin door with mechs he never sent.
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

Personally I can care less about roms and illegal cd's and such. But it's annoying when people crap on other members selling threads.

If you guys don't like what he's selling or offering, drop him a P.M. Better yet, a moderator should do it.

That is annoying. Too bad that didn't happen here.

All that happened here was crashwg pointing out that you can't sell that stuff here. Mikei got the picture and edited his post appropriately. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, and it certainly isn't thread crapping. I would much rather someone tell me that ahead of time so I could modify my own post instead of pissing saint off and having a mod edit/delete it for me. The only crap in this thread is you.

Me too!

 I get mad everytime I put a dvd/cd/cart in my xbox/ps2/dc/nds.  I get so mad because i dont have the overpriced hadbooks that come with the games.  And the graphics on the orginal are much more better then the marker writing on mine.

Roms are so over rated.  I dont know why people are so interested in them  :dunno

your mistake is fine and these CAN be corrected, which has been done. When these things are posted as such it quickly comes to saints and other mods attention. All members here try to watch for one another in the fact that we dont want all the wealth of info and good people here to come to a screeching halt and thus end this site by illegal activity. Your mistake is corrected and some folks HOPEFULLY learned from it. Game On.
