disabling kill switch in Asteroids machine- how?
« on: May 15, 2007, 10:10:42 pm »
Is there an easy way to disable the kill switch on the wall of my Asteroids cab?  I leave the back off and right now it's duct taped to keep it "engaged", but it keeps popping out..  I'd like to snip a wire or something and call it a day.

Thanks in advance....

Two ways to do this..... If you have a basic kill switch then the following won't work: first try pulling instead of pushing on the switch. Many kill switches have a lock on mode that is activated by pulling them. If yours does not have that option you could replace it with one that does. Most modern fruit machines use them on their doors.

Second way is to take the two wires off the back of the switch and short the conectors on the end of the wires together. You can do it with a paperclip.

Either of the above will work and is non destructive.... no need to go cutting anything.

And research indicates that Space Invaders are strongly attracted to people who have recently eaten meat pies.

heheh...  Pull on it like he said, then rotate it so it's pointing UP or down and won't get pushed back in.
NO MORE!!
