Recording problems
« on: May 05, 2007, 09:45:06 pm »
I know some members here have much more computer knowledge than I do.

I am having trouble recording cd's and dvd's on my computer.

I have gone into properties for the correct drive (of the dvd drive) and made sure the "enable recording" box is checked. After a few minutes if I check properties again it is unchecked.

I have a feeling ot is some type of virus, worm, spyware, whatever.

I have run several different virus/spyware apps to no avail.

Can anyone help me? I don't want to wipe the HD as there are things I need to save before wiping.

I know I have probably not given enough info, just ask and I will tell.

What are you trying to do?  Are you moving files / backing up, or are you making music/MP3 disks?  What software are you using?

Trying to copy files to a cd or dvd. I am using Nero.
It seems not to matter what software I use. I have tried Nero, Sonic (came on the computer) and just plain old Windows (which is powered by Sonic if I am not mistaken.

Something is causing the recording capability of the drives to be disabled. No matter how many times I check "enable recording" it always gets "unchecked" just a few minutes later.

I personally am at a complete loss.
