LEDWiz Problems
« on: May 05, 2007, 02:17:45 am »
I was hoping someone could give me a hand with my LEDWiz, I can't get it to do anything...

Windows is finding it ok but I've plugged in 2 RGB LEDs that I bought from Randy's at the same time but neither of them work, I also tried a 5v relay and it won't switch either

I've been using that test program on Randy's site to turn the outputs on and I've also tried a few programs that other people have made with the same results.

I got my volt meter out and tested the output and when I turn them on in the test program they are definitely switching on though they are only putting out 0.579v, is this normal? That would explain why the 5v relay isn't working but I'm not sure what voltage the RGB LEDs need... I was under the impression that there should be 5v coming from the outputs?

I'm not running it from a hub its plugged directly into the PC and I've check the voltage between the common and the u5v terminal and it's 5v so it's definitely getting the power ok

Thanks
Stu

Is the jumper in place so you can use the USB bus power?

Raise your hand if your an idiot and can't read instructions... Stu raises hand :)

The jumper was there but I just realised I was plugging the 4 lead of the lead into the external ground terminal instead of the external 5v input (x5v) terminal, it working perfect now

Thanks for your help

Now to have some fun
