More Painting Advice
« on: April 15, 2003, 10:18:34 pm »
Ok experienced people, here is the situation.  I have primed my cabinet pieces and applied two coats of "hammered" black paint.  The cabinet is not assembled yet.  I am planning on assembling the cabinet and applying the final coats of paint with a clear sealer on top of that in case any damage occurs during assembly.  Some of the other threads indicate imperfections showing up during the first few coatings of paint, which is the case with mine.  I have thought about sanding them down with a fine grit (150-200) before I apply any more paint.  I know some of you have used the hammered paint and it is turning out really well on mine right now, but do any of you know about sanding the hammered paint job.

And for those of you that used hammered, I used a small roller and there is small but noticable marks where the paint did not blend well from the roller.  Did you use a large roller or one of the small ones.  Also, how many coats of the hammered did you use.

thanks

I'm not sure... but I think the thing about using hammered paint is that you are supposed to be hammered when using it.
