Wanna build a juke but no tools/skills?
« on: April 25, 2007, 02:02:58 pm »

A friend of mine who owns a video business just won one of these lots of 4 units to use as sales and video sampler kiosks at shows that he is shooting.  He got a lot of 4 units for about $911 and is planning to drive to the Oregon location for pickup in his truck.  4 units for $911 puts the unit cost at about $227 and each one comes with 17" LCD touchscreen, 2.4 GHz P4 PC with 512MB ram.  Add better speakers, a bigger hard drive, and a little cleanup and it would be a damned fine juke.  Or part out and build your own if you do not like the design of the kiosk.  $227 is a great price for the PC parts and LCD touchscreen.  Would probably need to be somewhat local to pick up and avoid shipping charges (my friend is driving from California to get them).

Thought it might give some of you some ideas...  Check it out...

Those are kinda nifty. I like the design and I like the looks of the back inside shots. Thanks for sharing.

I like the curved look.     I hope the touchscreens actually work for you ......  if so, then this is a real good buy.....

Just to be clear...

I am not bidding on this nor planning to use one of these for a jukebox.  I already built mine.  A friend just told me about his auction win and I asked if there were more available as I know there could be intrest here if the price were right.  It looked like a killer deal for someone looking for the right deal or wanting to build but with no woodworking tools or skills.

If you're intrested, please bid.  You won't be bidding against me.

Good luck

Only good if the screens work like uncle T said, if they don't work then it's not worth while IMHO.

I built one into one of these for my neighbour, nice big 21"
