FS: NES w/new connectors and lockout disabled [US-MA]
« on: April 25, 2007, 07:52:08 am »

Okay, folks, I have three of these, as detailed in this thread.  All have new connectors and the lockout chips have been disabled.  The lockout is what causes many of the blinky screens, rather than the connector, because the lockout chips had a tendency to become unreliable as the units aged.  Between these two fixes, plus some other random cleaning, these suckers are highly tested and as close to 100% as you're going to get.  I won't ever claim 100% on an NES... those who do aren't being honest.

Each comes with a power supply, RF adapter, two controllers, all tested.  Two of the power supplies are from another item but are working as suitable replacements.

Shells:  One of the shells is a nice original color.  Another is somewhat yellowed.  The third, as I got it, has the top half of the shell painted flat black.  It's a decent job and doesn't look bad if you want to put it into an entertainment center with mostly black items.

I have a decent amount of games that can be included for a reasonable price as well.

$30 + actual shipping cost per unit.

Bump before ebay.  These seem to be going much higher there, if that helps.

Good luck.  Looks like you got yours working better than I did mine.

Mine only sold for 32 + 28 shipping.  I had 4 controllers, an NES Satellite, and 13 games for it.

Odd... maybe you caught a bad week.  Maybe I will catch a bad week.  Doing a quick search I see a good amount like this.

Highly variable, apparently.

They probably run about like the Atari 2600's.  When I got mine most of the were going for around $50-$75 with a few games. I got one for $23 with 30 games. Its basically a crap shoot. Wish I had the money to buy one from you. I have been wanting an NES for a while now.

I would venture to say the Wii is playing a big part in the price increase for NES consoles.

Those NoaC consoles probably play a role in the prices of the original, but it's hard to judge whether the NoaC systems push the price up or down. The NoaC sucks ass and the consoles they're in are really only useful as spare parts. So people who buy them probably get disappointed, dump the NoaC then hit eBay for the original.

Fluctuating console game prices are easier to track. When Klonoa 2 hit the market, Klonoa 1 was already out of print. My Ex wanted Klonoa so badly that I ended up paying, IIRC, around $60 for a NIB copy. When The Lunar series hit the Playstation, the ---smurfing--- Sega CD versions skyrocketed, $60 for opened copies, $100 for the rare CD prints and $150 or better for NIB. At the same time, it was almost impossible to find a working SCD for a reasonable price. The Lunar rush pushed the console prices up. Now you can find SCD copies for less than $20 (though this NIB with potential signature might command the asking price). Makes me wish I kept better care of my SCD Lunar discs :(

Then again... maybe I'm talking out of ---my bottom--- and prices fluctuate whenever Pam Omidyar has a visit from Aunt Flo.

Bump, the nicest shelled unit is gone, sold locally for more than I'm asking here.

Bump last day on ebay, still at $20 each with games.
