Minipac and 3" happ highlip traball hookup
« on: April 19, 2007, 07:04:57 pm »
I just finished up testing my trackball via a minipac opti with harness. Here are my suggestions.
First remove the harness that is attached to the trackball.
Connect the 2 black connectors to the minipac. They are keyed. one is 40 pin and the other is about 12.
Then plug the 2 molex connectors into the trackball. The yellow ,orange, red, orange connectoer goes to the right side, where it says monitor. Connect other side.
Then plug ps/2 to usb cable into minipac.
Plug usb into PC. start PC and configure a game to use the mouse as a controller. I used missile command. Run game and test. I had to swap my up/down wires. I did this on the 40 pin connector. Be careful as the little tabs holding it in place are brittle. Just pull them up a bit to remove ends. Swap if necessary.

I also had a usb spinner that in order to get it working I had to enable the mouse in games. I use mame32.

I hope this helps out anyone in the future.
