I'd like to be able to power the coin door lights on my MAME machine, and possibly even function when a quarter is put into it, but thats no big deal. Can this be done?

Sure. As long as the Lights are 5v LEDs you are good to go. Wire up the switches on the coin mechs just like you would on a button. You can even use the same contacts on the KeyWiz as you are for your credit buttons.

Can I split the connection to the coin mechs to go to a button, and the coin mech switch?

Can just any old 5v led's work in them, as long as they fit? Cause I may look for some at radioshack.

You won't be happy with the amount of light from those. To get a real bright LED you would be better getting them from dm with your rollers. I believe that they even come with the proper resister.
