HELP - with Jukebox Audio Needed

I’m in the middle of a Jukebox cab build. ( PC based PIII, SKjukebox, keywiz etc )
My dilemma starts with the audio.  I’m  installing a sub woofer box, and some 6x9 4 way car speakers for the top end sound.
I can get these from ebay fairly cheap.



I want to keep it all running from mains power ( 240v Aussie )
So do I need to find an Amp that has 2.1 channel output... or is there a way of connecting the sub to a 2 channel Amp?

Either use car gear, or even better is to use PA gear, since those often have crossovers in them since that means you dont have to try to power the car gear.

Since the subs share airspace you will need to combine the signal to mono and then put that into both of them to stop them from going nuts when fed out of phase bass.

Look on ebay in the musical instruments catagory for PA gear - similar power levels in "home audio" gear usually come with the Audiophool pricetag to match.

Otherwise you could use a home theater reciever and set the main speakers to small, this will highpass them and then you will need a seperate power amp for the sub - jaycar have part AA0508 - I am sure they used to have some smaller ones as well, possibly discontinued - there is a much nicer selection of things like that in the states then aus/nz...

If you plan on using that gear use a car amp. Or like I did, go to a goodwill and find an old receiver. The old ones name branded will have plenty of power to run a sub and speakers. Also if there are 4 channels (commonly found) you can run your 6X9's off of the front, and the subs for the rear. You should be able to pick one up for 40 bucks or less!
