FOR SALE: Playstation/JAMMA interface
« on: April 11, 2007, 08:24:13 am »
I have three of these left over from a project and would like to get them in the hands of people who might actually use them.  These are devices which plug inline with your JAMMA harness and allow standard Playstation/Playstation2 controllers to control the JAMMA board.  This was inspired by such ports found on Tekken 5 machines.  Apparently some people are more comfortable using a gamepad while others of course prefer real arcade controls.  If you want to give your cabinet that functionality (this works with any game), here's exactly what you need.

Features:
  • Both players supported by one board
  • Support for 6 buttons (Standard 3 JAMMA + 2 in the spare spots with the three non-JAMMA available on 0.156" headers)
  • Memory for 4 button maps (switch with DIP switches)
  • All button maps user configurable
  • Joystick mapped as regular buttons (so you can map the D-Pad)
  • Analog sticks control JAMMA joystick outputs (8-way) when the controller is in analog mode
  • Supports coin-up from controller (e.g. using the select button)
This board is recommended for use with official Sony controllers only. (PM me for info)

The parts alone cost about $55 in the small quantity I ran this at, so that's what I'm asking.  One board has a chip in the edge connector (female side), so I'll knock $5 off the price of that one.  Prices do not include shipping (about $4.50 to anywhere in the USA, I will ship internationally for cost).  This price includes all the connectors you need to hook up to the board itself (including the extra buttons), but do not include e.g. a hacked playstation extension cable to hook the controllers up.  I can do that for you for whatever I the extension cables cost me locally at retail (the labor - about 2 hours! - is free).

PM or post with questions or offers to buy.  I check the forum fairly regularly.  If the price is too high and you're interested, let me know and we may be able to work out a deal that suits us both.
