Ehhhhrrr   Iwould Say NO ....anyway I have not VISTA to test it.

First off I would like to thank those of you that monitor this thread and attempt to provide support to people having trouble.

Your help is greatly appreciated!!

I have been researching light guns, and I agree that the LCD TopGun stands out from the rest. I recently ordered two from PlayAsia, as well as a Blaze stand ( for screens >60 inches ) so that I can play on a projector that I have.

When the guns came yesterday I ran into a problem setting them up, that I couldn't figure out on my own.

As soon as I plug the guns in, Windows automatically detects them and installs drivers. However, it installs them as "Generic USB Hub", and seems to be perfectly content with that.

I tried using all 3 drivers available: EMS drivers v 3.2, Acron's WinGun ( latest version ), and Smog's drivers ( latest version ).

Each driver installed successfully ( and yes, I uninstalled previous drivers before each new one ), but couldn't detect a gun connected.

If I uninstalled the driver for "Generic USB Hub", the gun apps still won't detect a gun. After a few minutes, windows re-installs the "Generic USB Hub" drivers.

Whenever I move the gun to a different USB port, it reinstalls the Generic USB Hub drivers.

I am running Windows Vista Beta (build 5384), which I'm sure is part of the problem.

Has anyone ever heard of this happening to someone? Is there a way to get around it or am I stuck?

P.S. I am only working with one gun atm, I have not tried plugging in two at once. Baby steps.

Thanks!
~Jack

I know people who had to format after that :D
Joke apart ... vista is not yet out, don't you think is too early to submit problems about it ? :D

Vista is in beta, and readily available to anyone to download, so why not? People are using it ^_^

The problem is not the OS availability .. but that of the development kits :) I won't use any DK for vista before the software house I work in buys it :D
