"Dragon Joystick" handles still available?
« on: April 05, 2007, 09:19:36 pm »
I just recently read the RetroBlast! Review of "The Warrior" Joystick Handles by Dragon Joysticks, and they seem really cool..

Unfortunately their website's been down for awhile now and I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone else carry their merchandise.

Anyone know the story behind these guys?  They out of business?

do not buy steel sticks. They alter the dynamics of joystick unfavourably, every 'warrior' you this will say. This only appearance nicely but it acts terribly.

I did the review and disagree. They are so light weight they seem to weigh the same as the original handles they're replacing.

....I don't know though if the vendor is still producing them though. Sorry!  :dizzy:
Seriously. Will it fit in my basement or what?

Well this is why I wanted the Dragon Sticks over the Slik Stik silver sticks, which are made of steel.  These are actually made of "7075 aircraft aluminum", which are as light as the original sticks, so although they will feel different, they shouldnt alter the playing drastically.  And I get the great looks as well..

Either way it seems to be moot since the site it down... ah well

Not sure how bad you want those, but they're pretty standard machining work. It'd be more pricey than buying them from Dragon, but if you give them a sample of a regular handle to work from, they can recreate it in aluminum.

I've done this with motorcycle stems for fork swaps a couple of times. Usually about 90 bucks. Sticks might be a little cheaper.
