Marque Artwork?
« on: April 05, 2007, 01:05:46 am »
I've been giving my Juke a lot of thought and I have some pretty good ideas and started jotting them down.  Still planning, will start actual construction in a month or so (I'm still accumulating parts too).

So one of the things I'd like to finalize is the theme and marque.

I did a search in the Artwork forum and couldn't find any.  I'm looking for a name (I like "Rock-Box" and "Rock-ola") or existing artwork or a how-to on something I can create (but I've never tried before).

An suggestions?  Can anyone point me to nice looking Marques for Jukes?  (I liked June's Marque alot, who created it?)

Thanks Again Guys,  MPTech

If you want to make it yourself, there are a lot of good graphics tools out there.  I used Paint Shop Pro and was able to generate something I liked pretty quickly.  There are lots of good tutorials around for it and quite a few "how to" books to be had pretty cheaply (look at amazon marketplace and half.com).  You can do a lot of neat stuff with layers - I started with digital photo I'd taken, cropped it to the size I needed and built new layers on top of it.  Put all the text on a vector layer so it would resize smoothly and sent it off to mamemarquees.  Very happy with the end product.

Don't be shy.

Let's see the Pics!

Anyone else that has a marquee to share, I'd greatly appreciate!

Ok, here were the options I'd considered.  Once I decided to go with the "Gavin a Blast" option, I stopped working on the others so they are pretty much first drafts.  I'm no artist, but I was pleased with the end results.

I know I recommended Paint Shop Pro, but I got to thinking - if you're a Linux user, you could probably use the Gimp to produce something similar, and that's free software (and actually, I think it's also been ported over to the Windows platform).
