Double dragon problems
« on: April 02, 2007, 09:19:33 pm »
I have a double dragon cabinet which I am having trouble with. When you try to use player 2 the character won't go up, right and the kick button doesn't work. I have checked the wiring and it looks good so I am thinking there is a problem with the pcb. Where do I start to try and figure out what is wrong?

As long as the switches test good with a meter, the next easy step woud be to pull the jamma plug and clean the contacts on the PCB, then reseat and try again.
If that doesn't do it, you'll have to check for continuity between the harness and the switches.
It's doubtful it's the PCB, I think you'll find the problem ends up being wiring related.
Good luck!
Cheers!

I have figured out it looks like it is the PCB, the wiring seems to be good. I tried a few diffrent games in the cabinet and they worked so it looks like the board is hooped, fortunatley I have been able to find another board from a member on here.Just want to say thanks to you Angry_Radish and Cheffo for your help, it is nice to be able to throw out questions here and get some input from others. Take care

Well I'm sorry I wasn't right, but I'm glad you got it sorted out either way!
It may still be worth reseating everything on the board and checking for broken traces, who knows, you may get another working board out of it for a spare:-)
Cheers!
