MAME INTO CABARET CAB (PAIN IN THE ASS)
« on: March 30, 2007, 04:18:26 pm »
hey guys

Im trying to finish up my mame cab
it's pretty a pain in the ass since starting the project

first the monitor that was inside was ''a 13''

so im putting a 17'' pc monitor...

so i had to cut a hole into the door & recover it with an other peice of wood but the other side..... so it looks ''ugly but still you never look at a cab's behind....(don't we?)

haha

nayways
my question is the following

How can i put brackets for the monitor to hold...
& be straight

I tryed drillings some little L brackets it didn't do the job
now the monitor is holding by some Wood on top & on the bottom i couldn't put a long peice of wood so i put only 2 squares of wood so it can slide in & hold there....
everything is bolted with washers...

but it sucks...
i don't like my project so far... but i guess i could live with it if the monitor could be straight  straight dead center...

could you take a pic of the area?
Back in MY day we lived on the moon and we had to build a rocket ship from scratch to get to the Earth before we suffocated.

Pics would definitely help.

Do you want it stable enough to just sit in the cab correctly or do you want the monitor permanantly bolted in there?
Brevity is not my strong suit.

I want the monitor to never move again
i don't see the point of taking it out once the ''cab finished''

but now i drilled too much time on one of the side so the screw is loose on the bracket

so i tryed putting a bigger gauge of screw wich didn't worked really

so if i shake it a little it can move a tiny bit but ppicky as i am it bothers me so much to know that ..

:what i did ...''
i took Flat backets & put them on all 4 corners of the monitor & then i took a wrench & put them secured there  & put peices of wood to slide it in

but what i would like is do a cleaner job & so it's VERY hardly bolted into the cab & straight

pics :

im not happy of the job i did but not at all .
i would like to find a way to make it cleaner & very solid

The backdoor part i don't mind since no one will see it even if i didn't have a back door ...
thanks!!!
