Cleaning Arkanoid Spinner
« on: March 29, 2007, 11:45:52 pm »
Well I just got a Arkanoid spiiner in a group of parts I purchased.  I intend on using this for my mame cab, but I wanted to clean it up a bit prior.  There is plenty of brown grease stuff on the gears, but it is kinda noisy when spinning.  What is the best method use to clean and re-gease.  Also I know the Arkanoid spinner is extremely sensitive, would there be any issue using as a spinner for most mame roms.

It's definitely better to be too sensitive than not sensitive enough.  You can always dial down the sensitivity in MAME for the other games.  The only concern would be your interface not being able to keep up with the spinner which would cause backspin.  How are you planning on hooking it up to your PC?

You can use an automotive degreaser and then let dry completely and apply new grease.

yes I plan on using it with Mame and connecting via mouse hack.
