Dartboard
« on: April 11, 2003, 07:19:39 am »
Besides building my MAME machine, I am thinking about building a pub like Dartboard.

An example would be the Arachnid Galaxy.

Anyone know where you could get some parts or even how to hook up a dartboard to a monitor?  I did see an Arachnid Dartboard for $159 that had the ability to output to a monitor, but it didn't seem to have as many options as the Galaxy.

Thanks ahead of time  :P

I have an arachnid home board that I plan on taking an old 486 laptop to interface with and making pub board.

English Mark Darts coin op models have monitors in them already, and they can output to a TV as well.

I got mine at an arcade auction for $25. It was non-working when I got it, but I adjusted the power supply, and then it came right up.

Mine works, but it needs a new dartboard assembly, because some of the numbers don't score.

Anyway. Much cheaper to buy a coin op dart board than it is to build one from scratch.

Go to auctions, look around and keep your eyes open for bargains.

I bought two of the Arachnid 6300 Super 6 II machines non-working for $50 each from a local operator who was selling off some of his stock.  Replaced some $.50 parts in each, and sold both for nearly $400 each.   :)

Even eBay has some deals occasionally.  I got an Arachnid Galaxy (dedicated, not conversions as the ones in the link in the first post are) for $250 on there because the seller left out the word "Arachnid" in the title and description.  It worked perfectly (besides needing a cap kit in the monitor, big deal), and it's the one I kept for myself.

Mine is a Super 6 II also. Where would I go about getting a new board, or whatever it is I need to replace so that all the numbers will score again.

www.betson.com sells the replacement parts and segments for reasonable prices, much cheaper than Happ.

You can download the service manual for the Super 6 Plus II from www.bullshooter.com in the support section.

You'll need to figure out if you have the standard Spider or Super Spider, single or double bullseye, and if the target matrix is a single or 3 tail version.  If you need any help, post here or message me.

If you're gonna do a custom dartboard thing, take a look at this cool project:

You should try something like that.

I;ve seen that, that is too much work that isn't needed.

bah ...who needs an electronic dartboard anyhow???  ??? ??? i would much rather have a nice " raven edge" horse hair board mounted in a nice oak case with a chalkboard for scoring..

those soft tip darts just don't cut it, they are too darn light at only 18gm tops, i like a nice meaty 28gm dart. and if you and your friends can't hit something the size of a dartboard from that close of a distance than you shouldn't be playing with pointy things hehe ;)
